Supervision Service
Qualification: PG Certificate in Counselling Supervision - qualified in 2009 (Plymouth University)
Main Supervisory Model: Seven-eyed Model of Supervision, (Hawkins and Shohet)
Within the context of the over-arching Person-Centred ethos, I work to this comprehensive, supervisory model for reflexive practice in supporting counsellor/psychotherapists with their clinical expertise and within organisations towards managing the tension between the individual practitioner, the client's wellbeing and the organisational boundaries.
Supervision of Contracts
Student Supervision: this contract typically requires a bias towards ongoing training requirements and support in applying theory to practice as well as integrating the BACP Ethical Framework. This model of supervision allows the student to reconcile some of the conflicts between a purist model approach and specific placement requirements.
Qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist: this supervision contract requires that we prioritise ethical issues with reference to the BACP Ethical Framework. If this is a private, rather than organisational, contract, I am happy to negotiate a contract which then reflects the supervisees specific supervisory requirements.
External Supervision/Professional Development Service for Organisations: this service initially requires close collaboration in contracting to the specific needs of the commissioning organisation. Provision for consecutive supervisee bookings or group supervision is available either at a designated venue or at my own practice premises.
